An AI-powered relationship OS — a memory-first CRM for real life, so you show up for the people who matter.

Ciao is an AI-powered "relationship OS" — a memory-first CRM for your personal life, not your sales pipeline. As product designer on a small founding team, I shaped the mobile app end to end: the core concepts (relationship rings, passive memory capture, an XP system), the flows, and a 150+ component dark-mode design system, all running on a React Native app backed by an enterprise-grade memory engine.

We forget the people who matter most.

You lose touch — not because you don't care, but because life is busy and you simply forget. The cost compounds quietly: missed birthdays, friendships fading, whole networks dissolving. Today's tools don't help — the Contacts app has no memory and never nudges you, work CRMs are overkill, and social feeds bury your real friends under content.

Modern life is busy and noisy, and we drift from the people we care about — not for lack of caring, but because we forget. The tools we have don't help: the Contacts app is passive, CRMs are built for work, and social media has turned into content noise. Ciao is a bet that memory-aware AI, plus a generational shift away from virality, makes now the moment for relationship software.

Gen Z is leaving traditional social media — craving connection, not virality, and tired of feeds that show memes before memories. The opening is a tool that helps you show up: thoughtfully, consistently, meaningfully.

Ciao is a memory-first CRM for real life: know who to reach out to, when, and how — and remember the little things automatically.

Relationship rings

The home screen surfaces who's drifting. Each person sits inside a decay ring that fades the longer it's been since you connected — so the relationships slipping away are the first ones you see, paired with AI suggestions for how to reach back out.

Passive memory capture

Tap once to log a hangout and Ciao returns an AI summary — quietly remembering birthdays, jobs, kids' names, and the small details. Capture keeps running in the background, so you can close the app and still build a timeline of every conversation, voice note, and shared moment.

An XP system that rewards showing up

Staying in touch earns points, levels, and a place on a leaderboard among friends and globally. It borrows the feel of Venmo or early Instagram — a light social loop that makes consistency feel rewarding instead of a chore.

Built to scale: a dark-mode design system

Behind the screens I built a 150+ component design system in a polished dark mode, so the team can ship features fast while staying cohesive. Underneath, an enterprise-grade memory engine — Neo4j for relationship context, GPT-4.5 for summaries, Azure for real-time scale — supports it.

150+ components — the Ciao dark-mode design system

Ciao isn't another social app or CRM. It's relational software — built to make you the most thoughtful person in the room, without trying.

Ciao's MVP is built and running — a live React Native app backed by the memory engine, with a 150+ component design system behind it. The team is now in a creator-led, TikTok-first go-to-market, pushing toward its first wave of active users.
